APOYAR LAS MEDICINAS ALTERNATIVAS y COMPLEMENTARIAS

Queridos amigos
Recientemente se ha creado el EURICAM (European Research Initiative on Complementary and Alternative Medicine), 'Iniciativa para la Investigación europea sobre Medicinas complementarias y alternativas', cuya página web es www.euricam.net, y ha empezado su actividad proponiendo una campaña para que se introduzca este tipo de investigación en el próximo 7º Programa Marco de Investigación de la Unión Europea. No dudéis en firmar la petición, tanto a nivel individual como a nivel de asociación si os compete, si queréis que la investigación en Homeopatía y en otras medicinas complementarias y alternativas tenga un lugar prominente en dicho Programa Marco.
En la página web de la Comisión Europea:

http://europa.eu.int/comm/research/future/themes/index_en.html#criteria, encontraréis el formulario a rellenar; tenéis que ir a 'how to contribute', y allí, en el apartado 'Contributions can be made in two ways:', en el segundo punto hacéis un click en 'comments form'; una vez en el formulario, rellenáis los datos, sin olvidar los obligatorios ('mandatory'); en el apartado de "Areas of research", se propone marcar 'Combating major diseases' y en la última casilla 'other areas' añadir "homeopathy". El texto propuesto para añadir en el último apartado, que podéis pegar y copiar, es:

The massive increase in the use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), especially Homeopathy, by millions of citizens in the EU is not reflected in adequate research efforts by national and especially EU institutions. Patients´ safety and health development both call for an increase in scientific knowledge as do medical and postgraduate education for all health professionals. While the NCCAM (part of NIH) in the USA is generously funded, there are no funds available for European CAM research community, which was pioneering the field. In consideration of the fast growing market and the first reports about adverse reactions, the completely deregulated market for medical and non-medical providers of CAM - we urgently propose to include CAM as a separate topic in FP7.

Podéis escribir el texto que mejor os parezca. Por favor enviadme una copia [e-mail] si redactáis un texto nuevo, para poder pasar el aviso al EURICAM, y que así estén al corriente.
¡ RECORDAD QUE LA FECHA LÍMITE PARA CONTRIBUIR ES EL 31 DE DICIEMBRE 2004 ! La Comisión Europea necesita esas contribuciones, tanto individuales como de asociaciones, para tener en cuenta ese ámbito de investigación.
